Game Day Party Ideas – Free Printables, Prep Ideas, and Essential Gear

We happen to be huge football and basketball fans in our house, especially when it comes to the Packers and the Badgers. Naturally, we have some great game day party ideas for cheering on our teams each year!

Game Day Party Ideas – Essentials

Getting ready for game day means being prepared in advance. You are going to have lots of hungry, thirsty, and excited fans in your home, so be prepared to feed them, quench their thirst, and give them all the tools they need to cheer on their favorite team!

Cocktails

Have cocktails ready, or at least grab yourself a guide on how to make cocktails if you’ve never done so before. Also, a large beverage tub is an easy way to have cold drinks ready to go, and it is easy to refill throughout the day.

Don’t forget to give everyone a place to put their drinks (if you don’t want your furniture damaged or a big mess), and an easy way to open those bottles during the party.

Enjoying Game Day!

When the big game finally arrives, here is what I love!

I would have all my friends and family over and have the biggest bbq you ever seen with lots of brats and chicken wings as well as lots of finger foods and soda and tea! I would have a great cookie cake made with all the teams playing on it and have the tv set up outside with a great fire going to roast marshmallows on why we watch the game. Reply

My Fantasy game day would include my family & extended family. I would leave appetizers up to my daughter & my husband. Our family moto seems to have evolved to "It's all about the sides." I would buy a Packer ice cream cake & we'd all enjoy the game!! Reply
