Do you love gardening or growing a flower bed, but hate pesky deer coming around and nibbling off all your beautiful flowers and leaves? Me too! That is why I have decided to share with you an easy way to get those deer to stay away from your plants!

This is a family recipe that I got from my mother and she swears by it. She always uses it and has no problems with deer coming around and eating off her plants anymore. It is called Deer Away, and it is a very simple recipe using ingredients that you already have in your home. Once you’ve mixed up a batch, just simply spray on your plants and you no longer have to worry!
DEER AWAY RECIPE:
- 1 EGG
- 1/2 CUP MILK
- 1 TABLESPOON COOKING OIL
- 1 TABLESPOON DISH DETERGENT
- 1 GALLON WATER

I’m pinning this for future reference. Thanks!
Awesome, glad it could help you!
LOVE this! I will be giving this a try! Thanks so much for sharing, we love to garden and some years are worse than others with deer so good to know!
I was wondering about the consumption thing- what might you use for plants you eat!?

Christa someone on my facebook page mentioned using equal parts hot sauce and water. I don’t know if it works, but worth a try!

Never tried this, but I have heard that marigolds grown around the bed would deter those bothersome guests. Thanks for the tip!

Great tip! I have more of a problem with javelin and coyotes. Think it might work for them? Great info though, I will be sharing this with friends.

I have no idea if it would work for them, lol. My mom uses this every year for her deer. We actually haven’t had that big of a problem with them lately, but she always does.
I never had this issue until recently. I finally caved and do container gardening on my patio though because I love to watch the deer I do plant some veggies for them and put them outside. If I didn’t do this, they would skip our house and they are so beautiful and neat for the kids to watch. When we move though I will probably use this as I want a bigger garden!

I’ll have to remember this. When I was growing up the deer would come and chew our Christmas lights off of our fence.
