If you missed challenge #3 in the 4 Weeks to a Clutter Free Home challenge, head over here to get caught up.
Today didn’t end on a high note. I did manage to get a few things done but then my daughter decided an epic tantrum was in order today, so one of the things on my list sort of bit the dust after that.
Let me tell you what I did get done first, then we can talk about what got put aside until another day.
My goal of getting the spare bedroom cleaned out actually went quite well. I managed to sort through all the clutter and mayhem on the floor and dresser, and pretty much empty the room. All I need to do now is clean out the drawers, and shampoo the carpet (on today’s list).
I do have to admit… the room actually had a little more in it than this picture shows, but my husband took out the bed that was in there so I wouldn’t have to worry about it.
Everything has been picked up and put away, and quite a few things were discarded or put in the donate bin. The dresser top is cleaned off, even though I didn’t get a pic of it for some reason. The room will soon be ready for our new addition! Although I did notice after doing this that the walls need to be painted…any takers??
So what did I get rid of ? My five items included some of the picture frames that were hanging on the wall, as well as a decorative bird cage, and a blanket and movie we’ve never even opened.
So what didn’t I get done?
I didn’t spend the 15 minutes cleaning off my bathroom counter tops. By the time I was ready to do this, my daughter threw one heck of a fit about going to bed and it lasted for nearly 3 hours. Let’s just say by the time we all calmed down I was wiped out and there was no way the counters were getting done.
I think this is probably a good time to remind everyone (as I mentioned in Challenge #1) that life happens. Sometimes things will come up that we hadn’t planned for and we won’t be able to complete everything on our list. Don’t worry or stress about it. It is okay to miss something here and there as long as you keep working toward your end goal.
This also may be a good time to let you in on a little secret…. after the first five challenges we will have a TWO DAY BREAK! I typically do not do any blogging on the weekends so there will not be any challenges or updates posted during that time. That means you can spend two days catching up on anything you may not have gotten to, or just relax for a couple of days.
