4 weeks challenge

If you missed challenge #7 in the 4 Weeks to a Clutter Free Home challenge, head over here to get caught up.

Yesterday was interesting….I went to drop off all my donation items at one of our local Goodwill locations, but when I got there it was closed. Not just closed, but closed up. It no longer existed at that location. I did find out the location had simply moved, but it was across town and I wasn’t about to backpedal on my way home from work, so needless to say…I have all this junk sitting in my car for another day.  🙂

So what did I get rid of last night (my five items)? I have a bunch of things that were given to me as gifts or prizes that I’ve never even opened. They’ve just been sitting around while I hope to find a use for them. Since I never have, it is time for them to go!

5 things unopened

My kitchen….well, I did get a few things picked up but I have been exhausted after just going and going for over a week straight, so I didn’t get as far as I would have liked. I’m gonna keep on truckin though, and hopefully hit it a little harder tonight. I think I may even enlist the help of my kids with this one.

Don’t do it all alone!

This actually brings me to another important point I want to mention. If any of you are feeling like it is too much to handle on your own, plus take care of the kids, make meals, etc.; why are you doing it all by yourself?

I am able to get a lot of this done because my husband has been taking care of all the normal household chores. He does the laundry, makes sure dinner is ready, and does the dishes. This frees me up to take care of the rest of the house. If you have been trying to do this all on your own, it is time to get everyone else in your house on board and helping out….even if they do some of the tasks on your list and you still take care of the daily stuff; do whatever works in your home, just don’t try to manage it all on your own if you can help it. Heck, enlist the neighbors if you have to…tell them dinner and drinks are on you  😉

Share your progress!
