Are you looking for a place to take your Jeep off-road on Long Island? Long Island Off-Road offers a great club environment with trail rides that range from easy to hard, and you’ll find a great community of other off-roaders just like you!
Before you head out, though, be sure you have the proper 4×4 Off-Road Accessories to make your Long Island trail ride successful.

4×4 Off-Road Requirements
If you plan to head on any trails with the LIOR club, these are some required items you’ll need to have. It’s always a good idea no matter which trail you are visiting, so be sure to double check that you have everything on this list!
- Trail-worthy tires
- CB radio
- Seatbelts or harnesses
- Full-size spare tire
- Jack that will lift your truck
- Jackboard or foot
- Lug wrench
- Tow hooks front and rear
- Tow strap (no metal hooks)
- Battery hold-down
- Fire extinguisher
- Toolkit
- Full tank of fuel
- Liability insurance
4×4 Off-Road Accessories
Many trails you’ll be on will be far from any repair shops or parts stores so it is also a good idea to stock the following recommended 4×4 Off-Road Accessories.
- Spare parts (hubs, ignition, belts, u-joints, assorted hardware)
- Tree saver strap & shackle
- First aid kit
- Axe or saw
- Shovel
- Air pump or compressor
- Tire plug kit
- Extra fluids (oil, water, gas, ATF, fluids for transfer case, differential, power steering, brakes)
- Winch
- Survival kit
- Lunch
- Cell phone
Remember, you always risk damaging your vehicle body or some mechanical damage when off-roading. The above requirements and suggestions for 4×4 Off-Road Accessories are meant to help prevent that (although not guaranteed).
