When you’re planning a trip to Disney World, there are a lot of things to take into consideration. Not only do you have to work out how to get to Florida, but you have to ensure you have all the right passes, plenty of spending money, and you have to find the right accommodation for you and your family. Sometimes that can be the hardest part of all, especially if you particularly want hotels near Disney World that also give you plenty of local fun. With that in mind, here are eight hotels that can offer exactly that.

Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa

Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa has an excellent central location.

One of the many great things about Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa is that its location is ideal no matter who you are or what you want to do on your Orlando vacation. There are some decent Disney area hotels in this location, but something about Westgate Lakes puts it a cut above the rest. Perhaps it’s the fact that it has its very own water park, Treasure Cove, with a 41,000-gallon wave pool, a gorgeous lazy river, and loads of slides.

Or maybe it’s the rooms – they are certainly comfortable, modern, and they contain everything anyone would need to make their vacation perfect, including a mini-fridge, flatscreen TVs, an entire kitchen, wifi, and jetted tubs. Plus, there is an excellent golf course and a fitness center that has been meticulously created with the user in mind. Plus, as we’ve said, the location can’t be beaten; this stunning lakefront hotel is just four minutes from Universal and seven minutes from Disney itself, making it the perfect place to put down some roots when you’re in Orlando.

Melia Orlando Celebration

Explore the local area on a bike for an added touch of adventure.

As you might expect, there are dozens of hotels near Disney World, but they are not all created equal. There are some, like the Melia Orlando Celebration, which offers guests that little bit (actually, a lot) more than anything else. Located only three miles away from the Disney World Resort, you’ll find everything you need and more in this stunning hotel.

The Melia is an all-suite hotel, meaning that no matter how many are in your party, you can enjoy a large space with a complete kitchen, allowing you to cook your own food if you want to, and certainly giving you the best option when it comes to relaxing. However, the hotel’s location also means that you can head out to the local area to enjoy everything it has to offer, including dozens of restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues. There’s also a Spanish restaurant onsite if you prefer. Other facilities include a great pool, a gym, and cycle hire, so you can explore the local area much more easily.

Holiday Inn Lake Buena Vista
