I am a big Iron Man fan (huge Robert Downey Jr. crush, lol); so now that Avengers is set to release on Sept. 25th of course we had to do something to get ready!  My family decided to help me celebrate the release by having a pre-launch party with an Avengers theme.  We invited a few friends over and let the kids play while we had fun talking about our favorite superheros!

To get ready for our party, we first had to head off to Wal-mart to do a little pre-party shopping.  First thing, get a couple of movies that we haven’t had a chance to watch on blu-ray yet.  I ended up getting Thor, and The Hulk.

Next we needed some party supplies.  Masks for the kids sound like a great idea!  Plus we need a few things to decorate the house a little.

What could be better for an Avengers themed party than an Avenger pizza!

While at Wal-mart I noticed you can download the Avengers Augmented Reality app.  I went ahead and downloaded it and tried it out.  Unfortunately my store didn’t have all of the displays up that you are supposed to look for to use the app, but I was able to play the game on my tablet.

The app is actually pretty cool.  You can choose which Avengers character you want to be when you play the game, or if you can take a picture with any of the Avenger displays in your store to unlock cool content (my displays weren’t up yet, but they should be soon!).

After I got done playing around in the store (which was pretty fun by the way), I headed home with my supplies.  This last weekend we had our party and everyone had a great time!  There was even an appearance from The Hulk!

If you want to pre-order your own Exclusive The Avengers Blu-Ray/DVD/Graphic Novel Combo Pack from Walmart ($24.95) head to this link here:  http://bit.ly/NEnbY3.  I already received my graphic novel a couple of days ago and I have to say the graphics are amazing!  We haven’t had a chance to read through the entire story yet, but my son is excited to get started reading it with me very soon!
