My daughter is a huge Barbie™ fan, so when I told her that there was a new Barbie movie coming out that we could watch, she was super excited!
Barbie in Rock ‘n Royals – Raise Your Voice is an all-new musical that stars Barbie as Princess Courtney, a modern princess whose world is turned upside down when she switches places with Erika, a famous rockstar.
Two very different worlds collide when a mix-up sends Princess Courtney to Camp Pop and Erika to Camp Royalty. While the leaders of the rival camps try to correct the mix-up, both Courtney and Erika learn to adjust to the different worlds and have fun while making new, unexpected friends.
When the girls learn both camps are at risk of shutting down, they must embrace their differences, find their true voices, and come together for an epic sing-off that shows anything is possible when you dare to dream big!
We couldn’t keep the movie to ourselves, though. The weather was nice so we invited some friends over and had a little party. Everyone got to play outside for a bit, including water games, ball toss games, and more.
After all the wiggles were worked out, everyone came inside to watch the new Barbie movie.
My kids really loved Barbie in Rock ‘n Royals, especially all the singing and dancing, and there were lots of times when everyone got up to join in with the dancing.
My son even took part during a few of the songs and got up and danced along with the girls!
After watching the movie, I asked the kids what they thought of the movie. My daughter said she really liked all the singing parts of Barbie in Rock ‘n Royals, especially the “Raise Your Voice!” song.
**Spoiler Alert** The kids also seemed to enjoy watching the teams both end up winning in the end. They thought it was neat that everyone got to win.
Personally, I liked the message of teamwork and acceptance as Courtney and Erika were both willing to step out of their comfort zones and work with their new teams. This is a great movie for kids with a great message. Not only do the kids like it, but parents can get into it, too. It was definitely cute to watch!
It is available for Digital download now at iTunes, and will be available on DVD and Blu-ray™ at Target, Walmart, Amazon and Toys “R” Us September 8th.
