THE MOMMY BUNCH GIVEAWAY/REVIEW:

THE MOMMY BUNCH is holding a giveaway for a set of fabulous cloth diapers from www.babybabu.com!  This diaper truly is amazing.  I was able to test it out on a 6 month old whom has already been using another brand of cloth diaper.  The babybabu diaper was exceptional!  Since I don’t have kids in diapers any longer, I had my daycare provider use the diaper on her daughter (she is such a great test subject for me, lol).  Here is what she had to say:

“The diaper that you gave to me is one of the most prized of my cloth collection. I love how the inserts can be placed /removed from either end. I also live how it truly is a one size with the 3 snaps versus the standard 2. My baby has skinny little legs and the tight fit around the legs makes it stand up against even the messiest blowouts. Another nice feature is how the inserts slide in so easily. The fabric of the cover doesn’t catch on any of the types of inserts I used. Finally, the diaper washed very well and is absolutely adorable. If I could have a stash of just this brand, I think I would.”

When I had talked to her in person about this diaper, I recall one story specifically that she told me.  She had said her daughter had a very large blowout, and there was not one little bit of leakage, and the diaper cleaned up very nicely!  I would have to say the babybabu diaper gets 2 thumbs way up!

Here are some pics of the cute little diaper, and the cute little baby who was trying them out for us:

My mom was making my daughter a diaper and she put it on her to see if it would fit. My daughter pooped in it ALOT! She only had the diaper on for a minute and we didnt have an insert in it. It was so funny. My mom didn't think it was funny though! Reply

When we first started using cloth diapers, I couldn't figure out why my son kept waking up with a wet stomach when the diaper would barely be wet. Then I realized I needed to point his penis down...his diapers weren't having time to absorb because the pee was shooting straight out of the top of the diaper! Reply

The first poop my daughter had at home was in a one size Lux Rumparoo at the time I had NO idea what to do at all, she not only filled the diaper and her pants but she got it all over me as well. It took me about 15-20 wipes, a outfit change and bath for both me and baby, and a call to my husband telling him he HAD to run to the store (that is half an hour away) to get me more cloth wipes and breast pads. lol Reply

My sister uses all-in-2s with a disposable liner to catch #2. She took her son to MOPS and told the child care workers not to bother changing the diaper; if he did #2 then they could come get her to change it. (They weren't opposed to cloth, but back when they cloth diapered diapers were totally different.) When she came to pick up her son, they had checked his diaper and found it damp, so they had decided to "change" it. They took the disposable liner out, rinsed it in the sink, and hung it to dry. (Thank goodness they left the insert in.) My sister thought it was pretty funny, but took a little more time to explain her diapers to them. Reply

My favorite thought about diapers is watching my brother who refuses to use cloth diapers. Put 2 diapers on his son for bed. This was so funny because if they just use cloth or had a few cloth diapers then they would not have to waste so much money because there disposable diapers aren't so great. Reply

Hanging out with my sister one day and she was asking all kinds of questions about cloth diapering. Of course the infamous poop question came up and I explained to her that it wasn't as bad as it sounds. About an hour later my little one pooped and my sister wanted to see how it was handled. I started blabbering on about how easy it was to change and so on.. As i was changing her i knocked the cloth diaper off the changing table and it went poo down all over my carpet. LOL. My sister laughed and laughed and laughed! She then blabbered on about how if it had been a disposable I could have rolled it up and closed it as soon as i took it off little one.. WHATEVER! Guess who is now thinking of cloth diapering her new LO due in November?! HA! My Siter! Reply

When our firstborn was still very small, my husband was changing her diaper at my mother's house in the living room. He pulled the front down to wipe her, and I had just enough time to say "Keep your guard up!" He looked back at me, and she let loose. COVERED him head to toe in poop. Not a single article of clothing was left unscathed. It still makes me laugh every time I think about it! Reply

We haven't been using cloth for very long (our daughter is only 14 weeks old and didn't fit our diapers until she was about 4 weeks old) so I don't have much of an artillery. Today we had a funny moment when my husband took her in to change her before he left for work. He unsnapped the diaper and yelped. The he spazzed a little because it was a really full diaper : ) Our daughter was grinning like she knew what was going on. My husband was just a little freaked out at how much she had pooped. I guess she just wanted to dirty up all of the available space! Reply

it's kind-of a silly diapering story, but recently my son has been having leakage issues at nighttime, so i had set out to find the perfect cd solution by ordering different fitteds and fleece covers to try with hemp and microfiber inserts, etc. etc... and last week my son said no when i asked him if we could put his diaper on before bed... i put a pee pad & towel underneath him and since we co-sleep just made sure that he was always on top of something, and we have been sleeping diaperless ever since!! :D i'm sure once he moves to his own bed we'll have to resume the diapering, so i'm glad to have options in the cloth diaper world, but i thought the timing was pretty ironic ;) Reply

I don't have a funny diapering story, but I have a funny what's in the diaper story. Before my husband and I had children we were visiting college friends, in another state, who had a 1 1/2 year old. Both families also had dogs that played together so we brought Molly along with us. A few days into our trip our dogs greenie bone went missing. Surely our small furry beast had not finished the entire bone. Well, she had been swimming alot in the lake so we thought she must have. Anyway, a few days later our friend came back into the room from changing a dirty diaper with a look of concern on her face. The baby's poo was bright green!! My husband and I looked at eachother and laughed! Well, I guess we figured out where the dog bone went. Reply

I'm still pregnant with my first, so no stories about my own children. But when I was about 10 years old, my youngest sister was born. And occasionally my mom would try to make me change her diaper. I thought it was the most disgusting thing ever and would always whine and try to get out of it. Well somehow, I figured out that I could bribe my other sister, who was 6-7 at the time to change the diaper for me. It wasn't hard either, cause she actually liked changing diapers! lol Reply

He woke up with the Hershey Kiss melted on him and thought it was poop from the baby (I'd change him on the bed)..I could hardly stop laughing as he flew to the bathroom and hopped in the shower..Then I explained to him it wasn't the baby, he wasn't very amused. DH typically is the one who gets DS ready for bed at night. DS has been sleeping through the night for a couple months, but about a week about he started screaming around 3 am. DH went in to check on him and his pjs were soaked. Somehow he had forgotten to put a cover over the fitted before putting on the jammie pants! That would upset me too if I had wet clothes on. Reply

OMG some of these stories made me LOL and almost woke DS from his nap (the lawn mower next door gives him no trouble though)! I don't really have a silly story just that we keep DS amused while changing him by making silly faces and noises at him. The latest I've been doing is "singing" tunes at him with raspberry sounds, it got me my first giggle! I was so happy since daddy got the two earlier giggles! Reply

Just today I was in the bathroom and I heard my 3 year old calling from upstairs "MOM! Lauren (1 year old) POOPED all over!" I sat there thinking "Great! I don't even want to know how much poop is on the carpet! (She was in a cloth diaper I had sewn and she hadn't pooped in it yet, so I wasn't sure how poop-containing it was)" So I asked "Is it on the carpet?" He said it wasn't. I asked if it was on her legs, he said "No! It's in her diaper!" Huge relief! :-) And when I was able to assess the situation in person, sure enough, the diaper had held the poo in! When a 3 year old tells you there is "poop all over" it means something very different than when an adult says the same thing! Reply

I am new to CD and it seems that my son will hold off on that one last pee until I change the diaper, then he just lets have it in the new diaper. I am finding this quite hilarious when my husband made a comment this evening that out little man feels the need to "christen" all of the new or new to us diapers. Maybe he is just "marking his territory" Reply

My son is a super-pee-er.... so old-fashioned cloth diapers didn't work out for us bc he would immediately soak through them. Bum Genuis 4.0 is working out nicely- although we only have six of them- so I would love to try out all of the items in the pack and use them for our next kids coming up too : ). Reply

when my son was a newborn, I was changing his diaper in the early hours of the morning, and he had explosive poop all over the wall while I had his diaper off. I had a c-section so I couldn't bend over to clean it up. I had to wake up the poor hubby to come and clean it off the wall x.x Reply

My husband is notorious for putting diapers on crooked. I was holding my little girl when I felt her Pee all over me while I was at church no less. when I went to change her her diaper was still dry I was the only thing that was wet. Reply

My hubby attempted to change our son's diaper in our new stroller. The stroller doesn't lay back all they way so baby was pretty much in a sitting position. That was the longest, funniest diaper change I have ever seen. Reply
