When I first heard about this thing called a “Conscious Box” I was a bit intrigued.  Conscious box is a monthly delivery service of pure and sustainable products that are handpicked from businesses that care for the planet.  Heck, even the box is eco-conscious; it is made from 100% post-consumer recycle cardboard, and the inks used on the box are from veggies!  Here is a look at what was in the box when it arrived:

As you can see there is a TON of stuff that came in this tiny little box, however, I have to admit I was a tad disappointed.  I love getting new stuff to try out, but I really prefer getting full sized items so I can really experience the products.  Also, I’m not a tea drinker so that was not something I would really ever use, but my father-in-law loves tea and I’m sure he would be happy to take it off my hands!  The point of the Conscious Box is to provide you with a sampling of items that you may have never heard of before, and some that perhaps you have in order to introduce you to the most ethical, sustainable, and honest businesses that create the purest products available; but I still prefer the idea of getting more than a sample.

The list of items received in the July box was:

GoGo Squeez Applesauce on the go (Apple-Mango)
Jadience Herbal Formula Muscle and Joint Therapeutic Cream (Extra Strength)
Madhava Organic Agave Nectar and Organic Coconut Sugar
Aura Cacia Sweet Orange Essential Oil
Powbab Baobab Superfruit Chews (pomegranate acai berry)
Mighty Leaf Iced Tea
Tea Forte antioxidant amplifier teas
Sun Warrior Warrior Blend Protein Shake

Out of all of these things, the powbab superfruit chews were my surprise favorite!  Even though we only got one chew to try (a sample — I really wish they would send a full sized bottle or even a week’s worth), they were really great.  I thought they were going to taste horrible to be honest with you.  I have not had a good experience with a chew yet, but these actually tasted quite good!  I also have an issue remembering to take my daily vitamin, but something in a chew form might be easier for me to remember, so these are something I am going to look into getting in the future.

Another item that really stood out for me was the aromatherapy deck.  It is a full sized deck of cards that lists different flowers and herbs used in aromatherapy.  It tells you about the plant, how to use it, and how to combine it with other ingredients to make things like bath scents, or massage oils.  I will probably never get around to actually making any of the things on the cards, lets face it I barely have time to make the bed let alone make massage oils, but I still think it is fun to read about and is a good conversation starter for guests!  We also got a full sized (yes full sized!) bottle of Orange Essential Oil.  I opened it up to smell it and it is great, but now we have to buy a new scent diffuser because the one we had previously quit working on us, lol.

The GoGo applesauce we’ve actually had before, but they only sent one in this box so of course this was a fight starter with the kids.  Luckily I put it away and they both forgot about it, so I think I may just be the lucky one who gets to eat this!

If you, like me, enjoy discovering new products that are on the market, especially those that are environmentally friendly then I suggest giving Conscious Box a try.  You can select a plan that works just for you, try it out for one month at $12.00 for a box, or try out several months and get even more savings!

Next month will be the August ‘Back to School’ Conscious Box! It’s going to have delicious, nutritious snacks, some  great daily alternatives, and tons of other really fun stuff that everyone will enjoy, making it an AWESOME gift for all students, including K-12 and college. And yes, it’s great for students and non students alike, so you can gift it to anyone!  Just remember, you’ve got to order before the 6th of the month! This is the only legitimately healthy care package we’ve seen this year, and they’re going fast!
