I’m going to be honest here. I’m what some may call — cheap. When it comes to buying razors, or any product for that matter, I’d buy the nice razors and then use those babies until there is no life left in them.

Sure, the blades may be a little dull in the end, but what’s a dull blade when you can save a few bucks?! My Dollar Shave Club Review turned me around to how easy it can be to get a great shave and save a few bucks — because let’s be honest, I’m still cheap overall. 🙂

Was it the amazing blades from Dollar Shave Club?

They are pretty awesome and do a great job, but that wasn’t totally it.

Was it the weighty handle that makes you feel like you’ve got something really special going on?

While I love the strength and durability of this extremely well-made handle, that’s not the full reason either.

So how did getting some blades, a handle, and some hair balm help me change my mind when it comes to shaving?

Simple. It’s all about convenience. Previously, if I realized my blade was getting dull I’d just tell myself “oh, I can get a few more shaves out of this and maybe I’ll get some blades when I go to the store again.”

Then by the time I got out of the shower I’d forgotten all about my dull blades and I’d end up going months before replacing an already dull blade. They still did the job, but it wasn’t great.

Then I was given the chance to do a Dollar Shave Club Review. After one use I realized how much I loved having a fresh blade gliding across my legs. It felt so silky smooth, and shaving was a breeze.

You get a pack of four replacement cartridges with your shipment, so as soon as your blade starts going dull, you toss that baby and start with a fresh blade.

The convenience is that you automatically get replacement cartridges sent to you every month so you never have to worry about running to the store!

Even though these blades are ridiculously affordable, I’m still a frugal gal at heart so I chose every other month delivery instead of monthly. Besides the fact that I don’t have a need to shave daily, this saves me a few extra bucks. If you shave daily I’d stick with the normal monthly delivery.

The bottom line here is that these razors are pretty amazing. I love the hefty handle, the blades are sharp and work really well for man or woman, and you cannot beat having a fresh razor delivered to your door exactly when you need it.

It really is worth it to have replacement cartridges delivered to your door, especially if you are like me and always forget to get replacements at the store before your blades are extremely dull.

In addition to the razors, I also tried out a sample size of the shave butter. While I do love it, I probably will just stick with my soap and water method (remember, I’m frugal). I got my son some of the hair clay because he wanted to do a mohawk this year and I can say that stuff is great. If he decides to keep his hair we’ll buy the hair clay again. It works great and is easy for my son to use.
