Best sequel to a comedy I have seen in a long time!!!
“Just when I thought you couldn’t possibly be any dumber, you go and do something like this… and totally redeem yourself!” #DumbQuotes
Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels reprise their signature roles as Lloyd and Harry in the sequel to the smash hit that took the physical comedy and kicked it in the nuts: Dumb and Dumber To. The original film’s directors, Peter and Bobby Farrelly, take Lloyd and Harry on a road trip to find a child Harry never knew he had and the responsibility neither should ever, ever be given. Along for the ride are co- stars Kathleen Turner, Laurie Holden, and Rob Riggle.
When Dumb and Dumber To (by the way, kudos to the person who came up with the great name for this movie) arrived at our door, I was very excited to get a chance to view this movie a few days before the official movie release! My son, who had already seen the movie in the theater, was too impatient to wait for me and watched it again! YES, before I even had had the chance to see it for the first time (please note the PG-13 rating).
So before I get into what I thought about the movie I do have to mention that my son would be in a rolling giggle trying to explain the events that were about to happen, giving it away of course! Probably a good thing he is not attempting to write the review 🙂
I am a huge fan of the first movie, and the best part about that first movie is the road trip! Without giving the plot way, this movie will also not disappoint in the road trip department! The storyline is a little bit of a stretch, but the storyline doesn’t really matter, it is all about the humor. Plus, there are some pretty good cameo appearances! I have to admit, I was hesitant about a sequel at first! One thing I was worried about was that this was a “preview movie” (meaning that you have seen all of the good scenes in the previews), however, that is definitely not the case!
As soon as I am done with this review I am headed to the store to get the first two Dumb and Dumbers to watch with my son… let the marathon begin, of course, re-watching the newest addition at the end!
I will end by saying, don’t forget to watch the end of the credits for a special preview of the next movie!
Without spoiling it for our fans what was your favorite part!?
Thanks to Universal for the early release copy of this movie.
