Of all the Hawaiian Islands, my husband and I love to visit Maui the most. We may be biased since we were married there, but we just love to take in the astonishing beauty of the pristine beaches and the rainforested mountains as they slope down into tiny rural communities, where you can enjoy the local culture, food, and of course, beer.

Visiting Maui over other islands in Hawaii has always been an easy choice for us. From waterfalls tours, lots of snorkel sites on and off the shore, pulse-pounding ziplining, surfing and paddleboarding lessons, delicious craft beers, and mouth-watering fresh fish tacos, Maui has something for everyone.

If you are ready to experience the taste and feeling of being on one of the best Islands in the world (in my humble opinion), and you love a great beer, Maui Brewing Co brings you beers that are both delicious and reminiscent of paradise!

While you may not always think of visiting a brewpub while you are vacationing in paradise, that is actually one thing I would recommend adding to your list of things to do!

Experience Maui Brewing Co

Maui’s largest craft brewery, Maui Brewing Co, boasts over 32 Maui-made brews on tap for single pints or flights (a sample tray of 6 flavors).

The hardest part of choosing a flight of beers to sample is which beers to actually choose! There are so many great flavors, picking just six can be tough.

While my husband is the one who is more into beer, I did sample all of his selections and found a few that I actually enjoyed — which for me is saying a lot since I’m not a huge beer person like he is.

You can sit back and relax, play board games, enjoy the pristine weather, grab a bite from one of the many visiting food trucks, all while enjoying a few beers while waiting for your tour to start.

Tours at the Kihei facility run daily and offer a peek into what it takes to make beer that has a taste that reaches far beyond the sandy shores of Maui. Our tour experience was a fun look inside the ever-growing facility and our tour guide was full of knowledge and lots of good humor.

At the end of your tour, you get to sample four of their flagship varieties as your guide talks you through the tasting experience.

Of the four, my husband thinks the Coconut Hiwa Porter gave the best tasting experience, with its unique flavors. And the coconut, of course.

p.s. we were told on coconut roasting days in the facility, the whole place is fragrant with the smell of coconut – definitely something to experience!

And after you are finished with the tasting, you get to keep your sample cup as a souvenier. 🙂

Experience Maui Brewing Co At Home

If you aren’t going to make it to Hawaii to experience this fantastic pub first-hand, no worries. You can get these island brewed ales and lagers at a local grocer near you and experience the taste of Maui for yourself!

Maui Brewing Co beer is in most states, find out if your location carries their flagship varieties by visiting their website HERE. The Mango (limited release) is a fantastic option and one that my husband really enjoys, and we continue to purchase a variety of flavors to take us back to our time on the island.
