No matter how many kids you have, some things never change. You want the best for your baby every time, and that includes the products you use to cloth, diaper, and feed him/her with.
Ever since we found out we were expecting I have been seeking out the best baby products for our new addition (we got rid of everything we had before — we thought we were done!). Because I have a bit more experience this time around I feel better equipped to find the best products for baby, and I’m happy to pass that advice on to anyone who may be overwhelmed by the plethora of products out on the market.
Feeding Baby – Using a Good Bottle
Although I do plan on feeding breast-milk, I also plan on pumping as much as possible, and that means baby will need some bottles. I don’t want just any bottle because let’s face it…not every bottle is made the same, and there ARE some that are better than others. In my research so far, I’ve found some amazing products (similar to what I’ve used in the past), but also some new items that seem like they would be really beneficial to baby.
Evenflo Bebek Collection
Currently, I’m looking at the Evenflo Bebek Collection. One of the first things that stood out about the bottle in this collection is that the Proflow nipple rapidly vents air bubbles into the bottle in order to avoid air getting into baby’s tummy. Anyone who has ever had a fussy or colicy baby knows how important this is! I also really really like that the nipple/vent is one piece. This means less for me to clean and/or lose.
As you can see from the picture below, the nipple design has the vent built right in. The air escapes on the top side, yet is designed not to leak. The small slit in the vent on the bottom allows air to escape, yet keep liquids in.
Although I didn’t have an infant to test this out on quite yet, I filled the bottle with some liquid and tried it out myself (hey, a moms gotta do what a moms gotta do!). I did not have any problems with leaks, and I even shook it a few times like baby might do. No leaks.
Another great quality that stood out about this bottle was the design itself. The narrower mid-section allows for an easy grip, making the bottle comfortable to hold (which I noticed as I was doing my liquid leak test). I am quite certain that this will also make the bottle easier for baby to grip.
Of course the bottles are BPA-free, and are top rack dishwasher-safe.
Evenflo Bebek Pacifiers
In addition to the bottles, the Bebek Collection offers a line of silicone pacifiers. Although my first two kids never used pacifiers, you never know how it will go with another child. According to Evenflo, the soft edges of this pacifier have been developed for your baby’s comfort and the nipple features an orthodontic design. The shield is contoured to fit baby’s mouth comfortably. The oversized vent holes on the shield improve air flow and help prevent chafing.
