It is hard to imagine how all of these things fit together, but I can tell you, it isn’t some weird movie about my life — although it sounds like it could be. 🙂
No, what all of these things have in common is that I’m heading out to L.A. on an epic adventure to screen Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2 before it releases in May, interview cast members, find out all about Born In China, ABC’s Downward Dog and American Housewife, and screen Descendants 2! Plus we get a special musical performance and Q&A from the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards before the show takes place.
If that isn’t enough, we get to meet and interview cast members – oh, I hope I get to just catch a glimpse of Chris Pratt — so dreamy, and so funny!
Take a peek at all of the exciting movies and shows we’ll be covering at this event:
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2
One of my favorite things about Vol. 1 was the music. Obviously. I am so looking forward to the music in Vol. 2 as I’m sure it is going to be just as epic as the first version. Seeing my favorite characters on screen is going to be awesome too, of course, and interviewing cast members – exciting!
Set to the all-new sonic backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, Marvel Studios’ “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to expand.
See Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 in theaters May 5th!
UPDATE: During the press event we will be interviewing key cast members, including:
Chris Pratt (“Peter Quill / Star-Lord”)
Zoe Saldana (“Gamora”)
Dave Bautista (“Drax”)
Kurt Russell (“Ego”)
Michael Rooker (“Yondu”)

Karen Gillan (“Nebula”)

Director James Gunn and Producer and President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige!
Born In China
OPENS IN U.S. THEATERS ON APRIL 21, 2017 Narrated by John Krasinski (“13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi,” NBC’s “The Office,” “Amazon’s “Jack Ryan”), Disneynature’s new True Life Adventure film “Born in China” takes audiences on an epic and exciting journey into the wilds of China where few people have ever ventured. “The film shows an authentic side of nature in China that global audiences haven’t seen before,” says director Lu Chuan. “These animals are metaphors. They give birth like we do. They do their best to raise their cubs, like we do. They succeed and they fail. Their drive to do what is best for their families resonates with all of us.”
This new ABC comedy follows the day-to-day life of Nan (Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated Allison Tolman, “Fargo”), as told by her increasingly lonely and philosophical dog, Martin. (Special sneak peek airs on Wednesday, May 17th at 9:30/8:30c, followed by its time slot premiere on Tuesday, May 23rd at 8/7c)
If you’ve seen American Housewife (Tuesdays at 8:30/7:30c on ABC), then you know that perfectly imperfect wife and mom Katie Otto loves her “second breakfast” time with her pals after dropping off her kids at their various schools.
I’ve been catching up on episodes, and let me tell you — they are hilarious! This is a must watch!
In Descendants 2, the story deepens in the music-driven sequel to the global smash hit “Descendants,” as the teenage sons and daughters of Disney’s most infamous villains — Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay (also known as Villain Kids or VKs) — try to find their place in idyllic Auradon. When the pressure to be royally perfect becomes too much for Mal, she returns to her rotten roots on the Isle of the Lost where her archenemy Uma, the daughter of Ursula, has taken her spot as self-proclaimed queen of the run-down town. Uma, still resentful over not being selected by Ben to go to Auradon Prep with the other Villain Kids, stirs her pirate gang including Captain Hook’s son Harry and Gaston’s son Gil, to break the barrier between the Isle of the Lost and Auradon, and unleash all the villains imprisoned on the Isle, once and for all.
My daughter and I just watched Descendants and absolutely loved it. The story is fun, the music is catchy, and we cannot wait to see the sequel!
