**********UPDATE 12/21/11*******************
I wanted to give you an update on what has happened since my original post. I received my Serve American Express card in the mail (as of yesterday). I activated it this morning and used it to buy three 3DS games at Best Buy, shhh…don’t tell my husband as he will wonder why I am buying games for a video game console we don’t have, yet 🙂
So needless to say, this is legit, it does work, and the best part is that you don’t have to give them any personal information if you don’t want to. You only add bank information if you want to upload money or have it direct deposited. You can choose to have the prepaid card like I did (works just like an American Express card), or you can choose to have a check mailed to you.
The other great thing I learned about the SERVE service once I got the card is that you can create what are called “sub-accounts.” This works great if you have teens that you want to give an allowance to because you can simply get them their own card, and transfer money directly to it from your main account. They can then learn to responsibly use a card, without the worry of an actual credit card and racking up huge bills! Awesome, right!
I have also posted some pictures of my card (sans numbers, lol) as well as my receipt from best buy so you can see that it does really work!
*I believe this site to be safe because it is owned by American Express and I trust it. However, you should always use your own judgment and if you are not comfortable with an offer then don’t do it.
