Thank you to popexpert for sponsoring this post, all opinions are my own.
So what is popexpert? When I first heard about it I wasn’t really sure. I was intrigued, but had never really seen a service like this before. The website says “popexpert takes away all the excuses and gives curious and passionate people the opportunity to invest in their own happiness and success. They identify and recruit interesting and talented experts that help you get better at: life, work, & play.”
Interesting. I know sometimes we all get stuck in a rut and could use a little guidance, but how can they actually help me?
Simple. With live, face-to-face video sessions you can meet and learn from some of the best teachers and coaches in the business. You can learn everything from Productivity to Chicken Coop Assembly (yes, chicken coop assembly).
Trying popexpert for myself
When you sign up you actually get a free session to try out the service (up to $100 value), and I decided I wanted to talk to someone about relationships. I’ve been married for six years, but always feel like practical relationship advice can still come in handy. I know my husband and I have issues communicating sometimes (even after six years), and I was hoping to discover some ways to help us in that area.
I was scheduled to meet with relationship expert Juna Mustad, and had set up a meeting through the popexpert site. Scheduling everything was a really simple process using their integrated calendar function (which you can also sync with your google calendar), and Juna responded very quickly that she was excited to meet with me at our scheduled time. She also answered any questions I had about how the session worked.
Unfortunately I had some technical issues and my microphone wasn’t working (I also didn’t have a video camera but we discussed that ahead of time and she said it wouldn’t be a problem). Juna was very helpful and suggested we reschedule our session for another date so I could work out my microphone issues and she would let popexpert know I still had a session coming.
I was a little disappointed we didn’t get to discuss anything, but very happy at how helpful she was. She was on time for our session, tried to help me troubleshoot, and when that failed was very open to rescheduling. I am very much looking forward to our new session once I get my microphone issue resolved (and I should have a webcam by then).
Thoughts on the popexpert video sessions
A couple of things I noticed while I was in the session:
- The video and sound was crisp and clear
- There is a private notes section where you can take notes as the session is going on and even sync them with Evernote
- There is also a chat box — which was convenient for me because my microphone wasn’t working.
So far I’m really liking what I see with this program, and based on the reviews Juna and some of the other experts have received so far, other people are liking it too!
