Lemon Curd is the first novel of author Homa Pourasgari, and I am thrilled to have had the chance to read it! Lemon Curd is a romantic fiction novel that was inspired by Homa’s travels to England, France, and Australia. It also won ForeWord Magazine’s Book of the Year award!
BLURB
The independent Anna Lisa Gibson is an account executive at a prestigious marketing firm and is used to having her own way. When she’s forced to share her office and her client with a Brit from their London office, she’s more than displeased. Unlike her boyfriend, she finds him rude, disagreeable and not at all attractive. But as she gets to know him, she regrets judging him so quickly and gradually becomes his friend.
Yet romance is only a part of this story. From the streets of Los Angeles to the streets of London, Lemon Curd depicts the millennium lifestyle – Women’s position in the business world, the workaholic and multitasking attitude of our society, the unscrupulous act of taking what we want without thinking about the consequences of our actions, the sociopolitical atmosphere of the 21st century and the difficulty of balancing family and work life while trying to make a difference in the lives of the people around us.

REVIEW
If you are like me, you like a book that just keeps you enthralled and entertained from start to finish. Lemon Curd did not let me down. I read this book on my lunch breaks at work and had a hard time putting it down to head back inside! The writing is great, it is very easy to read, and the story line is interesting. There were a few times when I thought the dialogue was a little different from what you might hear in normal conversation, but overall this was a great read! If you love books of any kind, especially romance novels, this is one you will want to pick up!
