Recently, I discussed my journey with breastfeeding my four children and how it has gotten easier each time. Because bottle feeding has been a journey for us as well, today I want to talk about the bottle we have been using, the Avent Natural Baby Bottle.
When looking for the most natural way to bottle feed
Our youngest is the only child out of four kids who has been fussy about eating from a bottle. I guess we were lucky with the first three that they took whatever feeding apparatus we gave them, but I know that isn’t always the case for everyone — and now I know first hand how difficult it can be.
At first, we tried the bottles we had on hand from our previous child, but our slow-flow nipples had gone missing so that was problem number one. Once we finally got some slower nipples, our son had decided that he wanted no part of this bottle business. None. We needed a bottle that gave him a more natural way to bottle feed. There was only one bottle we could sort of coax him into taking, and that was the Avent Natural Baby Bottle.
This bottle worked out really well because it has a nice wide nipple base, which I suppose felt the most like he was with mama. It is also easy for my husband to use, and since he is the one doing all the bottle feeding this is an important thing! Now our sweet little 5-month old is taking bottles like a champ, which puts this mama a bit more at ease.
Why I like the Avent Natural Baby Bottle for a Natural Way to Bottle Feed
You’d be surprised, but picking a bottle for your baby is a tricky choice. You may think any old bottle will do — until you have a baby that has a hard time feeding away from mama. Then you want something that really feels more natural.
There are several things that make the Avent Natural Baby Bottle really supreme, as mentioned above, but here are some additional features that make this bottle one of the best choices.
- Wide ‘breast-like’ shape makes it easy to latch on; extra soft, flexible nipple mimics mom’s real breast making it the most natural way to bottle feed.
- Advanced anti-colic system with innovative twin valve allows air into the bottle – not baby’s tummy.
- Fewer parts make it simple to use and easy to clean.
- We’ve all been there, loads of parts to clean and put back together. When your baby is ready to eat you don’t want to be messing around trying to fit everything together.
Did you have a fussy baby when it came to bottles? What worked best for you?
