I’ve been harboring a little secret for a while and now I’m finally ready to share with everyone!

First, let me tell you about how I came to the point where I am at now.

I have been struggling with my weight ever since I gave birth to my first child. When I was younger, I could eat just about anything I wanted, and as much as I wanted while not gaining any weight. Since I’ve had two kids a lot has changed. I weigh so much more now than I did before I was pregnant, I just don’t even like to get on the scale anymore.

In the past month alone I have gained at least 6 lbs. In one month!  Things are certainly getting out of control in the weight department, and not in the right direction.

Currently I weigh 159 pounds. I was actually at the doctor yesterday, and they weighed me at 161 pounds, but I had my boots on so I am going to attribute the two extra pounds to my boots. 159 pounds for someone who is 5’5″ tall is actually quite a lot. With a BMI of about 26-27, I am considered overweight. My doctor also said my cholesterol is borderline and I really need to watch it.

Physically, I feel tired and not able to do some of the things I used to enjoy, and mentally I feel fatigued and overwhelmed. I have tried to start exercise programs, but usually find that after a few weeks or so, I just stop. I have yet to find a program that works for me.

Food is also another issue. I love to eat. I love the taste of good food, and I eat way too much of it. I try to eat healthy as often as I can, but really portion control is a major issue. If it tastes good, I will eat a lot of it.

I think the biggest issue I have though is soda and snacking.  I drink way too much soda, and I’ve tried to cut back before, but it is not very easy! I also, enjoy snacking; whenever I feel a little hunger pain, I just grab some snacks out of my snack drawer (I think I will have to get rid of this now that I’m on the program).

Of course in my lifestyle, I really need food that is quick and easy as well. This leads to a lot of not-so-healthy meal options if I don’t have the time to prepare something in advance (which I often don’t).

So now on to my announcement…..

I am a Nutrisystem Nation Blogger!  I could not be more excited to join a program that offers me help and guidance in all the areas where I struggle!

  • Correct Portion sizes
  • Convenient food, easy to prepare
  • Easy to take on the go
  • Food that TASTES good
  • Nutritionally balanced
  • Offers a sweet treat once a day
My Nutrisystem meals actually arrived last week, but I was out of town over the weekend, and wanted to make sure I fully understood the program and how it worked before I got started eating anything.

There are so many great options I just can’t wait to get started! The freezer items, which came on Saturday when I was gone, were already packed into the freezer by my husband when I got home. The pantry items are nicely separated and labeled for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even dessert!

I hope you will join me as I journey through this four month program, sharing my ups and downs, and hopefully weight loss success!  My goal is to lose about 20-30 pounds and get back down to a more healthy (and pre-baby) weight!
