A Busy Mom’s Simple and Realistic Beauty Tips

Keep it inexpensive

When you have four kids like I do, or even one or two, you start thinking about your budget. Kids are expensive. Living large now means stocking up on diapers and freezer meals instead of blowing wads of cash on a Saturday night. If you need to budget your expenses, shopping at retailers who offer low prices, like Walmart, can keep your finances on track.

For game day parties, a good splurge is a teeth whitening kit. If you head to the dentist you could be paying hundreds, but an at home kit like Crest 3D White can have your teeth sparkling at a fraction of the cost. I’ve been using my strips for the last couple of weeks and have already noticed a huge difference!

Keep it easy

If you are in the busy mom category, or even if you’re not and you just like to keep it simple, stick with the basics. A good mascara like the CoverGirl lashblast volume may be all you need – it’s usually all I wear on super busy days. If you want a tad more coverage, pop on a nice BB cream first.

Shaving doesn’t have to be hard either. No Shave November has come and gone ladies. Clean up those legs with the Gillette Venus Swirl – I don’t use anything else, and once you try this razor you won’t either. It works great and the blades last a long time.

Stock up on sales

If your toilet paper, dish soap, Tide, or paper towels were on sale you’d stock up. The same is true for those beauty essentials. When your shampoo, body wash, razors, and mascara are on sale – Stock Up on those too! A sale is the best time to buy things in bulk so that you have enough to last you through when the items are full price, right up until the next sale.

Keep it simple

The best realistic beauty tip I can give is to keep it simple! I don’t know about your parties but in our home, the eyes are on the game and the commercials. I don’t need to put on a whole set of war paint, simple beauty works much better, is faster, and so much easier. Plus being mostly natural compliments your own beautiful features. Guys I’ve talked to said they like it simple too — they want to see the real you!
