In my household we are always trying to find ways we can live a greener life.  We have been trying to buy mostly organic food products, as well as cleaning products that are generally good for the environment.  When I had the opportunity to try out some Green Works cleaning products I was thrilled!  I am extremely happy that a large company like Clorox is trying to move to more environmentally friendly products, and I am also happy that they actually work!

The products I received to try out were the Green Works dish washing liquid, the all purpose cleaner, and the compostable cleaning wipes.  So far I really love the cleaning wipes as they make wiping up quick messes really simple and easy, and I don’t have to worry too much about waste since they are compostable.  The only thing I don’t like is the big plastic container it comes in, perhaps Clorox should consider using 100% plant based plastic containers, that would make these even better! As far as cleaning, they do a great job.  The messes get cleaned up and even the kids can do it.  The container does not say they are anti-bacterial, but I don’t take too much stock into that anyway.  I am of the opinion that too much “anti-bacterial” stuff is just helping create more resistant bacteria.  Typically when I am cleaning up messes I just use non-antibacterial soap and water anyway, so this is not really much different.

Another product I got to try was the dish washing liquid.  I really like that there is no color, which means no dyes.  It seems to clean just as well as any other dish washing liquid, and my since my kids love to get involved by helping “clean” our dishes (they try, but really they are not that good at it yet, lol) I feel great letting them use this product knowing it is made with 97% naturally derived ingredients.

The third product I tried was the all purpose cleaner.  This is great because I hate having a different bottle of cleaner for every surface in the house, that just seems wasteful to me.  According to Green Works, “It’s dermatologist-tested and at least 97% naturally derived, so you can rest easy knowing that it won’t leave behind harsh chemical fumes or residue. Safe to use on multiple surfaces throughout the kitchen and bathroom, including counters, appliances, stainless steel, sealed granite, chrome, cook-top hoods, sinks and toilets.”  So far I was able to use it to clean my counter-tops and it did a magnificent job!  I have to say, they were getting a little neglected in the clean department because my family has been so busy we were starting to just let stuff pile up, but I got the cleaning bug one day after I received these products and I cleaned my counters from top to bottom and left to right.  I sprayed them down with the all purpose cleaner and everything was as good as new!  I have yet to give this cleaner a try anywhere else, so I will have to experiment more and see how good of a job it does on my stove, in my bathroom, and in my sinks.

Have you used any Green Works products?  If so what did you think?
