When dads wear diaper bags

When you have a new baby on the way you start to think about all the essentials that you might need to make your life as a parent a bit easier. Of course you want practical items (at least I did – after your third child you just realize that the cutesy stuff is useless), but you still want to be stylish when you can.

My husband, on the other hand, really couldn’t care less about what items we get as long as they serve a purpose and work well. There is one item, however, that has really been bugging me for some time. It is his choice in what to use as a diaper bag.

You see, he has been carrying around one of those reusable shopping bags as a diaper bag, which is fine and all, except when we go somewhere and I start to feel embarrassed. It really does look a little tacky to be carrying this around.

My assumption is that it has to do with the design of the diaper bag I have been using – which is pretty girly (and also not very roomy). So of course I decided to take matters into my own hands and find something that he would actually use!

I searched around but didn’t really find anything that I thought he would use. Either the designs weren’t right, or they just wouldn’t function well enough (we cloth diaper so it would need to be roomy enough to fit everything).

Then I found TWELVElittle. The TWELVElittle Unisex Courage Tote was EXACTLY what I was looking for. It is stylish enough that I’d love to carry it around, yet works well for my husband at the same time. Plus, it is really functional to boot!

My husband really likes that you can use it as a cross-body bag, that we can fit all the essentials, and that is very high quality.

• Lots of room for storage. There are ample pockets on the exterior and interior that will allow for storage of all the necessities (bottles, paci, wipes, treats, extra clothes, diapers, the kitchen sink, etc.)  😉
• An awesome hidden storage compartment that can hold any dirty items so they don’t muss up the rest of your things.
• A fold-able changing pad. I truly love this feature. I use it every time we go out to eat, visit a store, or even when I can’t find a changing table – I know with the changing pad I’ll always have a clean place to lay baby for a change.
